Wyotech program in California for becoming a plumber?

im 19 years old i want to become a plumber and i saw there's a 9 months program at wyotech should i go there or is there a better way also will going to wyotech help me get into the apprenticeship program easier and if i get a ociates degree in mechanical engineering will that boost my pay when i become a journeyman or master plumber and will it help me not get laid off if i also take cles for pipe fitter,pipe layer,and boiler repair plz help don't want to take all this time and money for something will bomb down in the future cause i heard alot of people in the plumber trade were getting laid off or really slow months and how do i go about being a on the call plumber cause i don't want to do construction pluming cause construction seems rocky right now
