My Horse Has Heel Thrush...?

my horse has really bad heel thrush, her heels are so soft i'm afraid even a toothpick can puncture it! my farrier told me to put iodine on it and wrap it for 24 hours, take it off for 12, wrap for 24, take off for 12...etc. i've been doing that for 4 days and its no better. someone recommended soaking her in bleach? or epsom salts and then putting thrushbuster on it? any more suggestions?
