My dog ate tainted meat....should I be worried?

I had to put it outside (snowstorm...couldnt get to the trashcan) and I couldnt keep it in the house (smell). I forgt about it being outside but he found it and ate about 2 or 3 bits from it. I found out b/c he vomitted in the house....should I be taking him to the vet or something? Someone told be dogs can digest meat (even if tainted) but why would he vomit then? What do you think I should do? Its sunday so my vet isnt available.....
