Could this man have been schizophrenic?
According to what you put here "Dead" shows no signs of being a schizophrenic. No one seems to have witnessed him talking to people who weren't there. He doesn't seem paranoid as if people or the government are out to get him. Van Gogh cut off his ear for love, that kind of behavior can be clified as over obsession. "Dead" did kill himself which could mean a lot things, but schizophrenics rarely leave notes and if they do they usually en-tale about their fantasies and delusions. I would say Ohlin got lost in his art which he used to fill in a void in his life probably created during childhood. His obsession with death made him feel more like an individual. Perhaps the only way he could fulfill his art was to become like dead he so worshiped.
