Computer hard drive transfer problem?

Ok well my computer is mucho crappy, and a friend of mine just got a new computer, so they gave me their old one. Its an eMachines computer, about 4 years old, but its better than what i have, a dell dimension 2350 thats about 9 years old. So i put my hard drive in their old one, and i made sure that it was the first boot device in the BIOS. I got it set up, but when i got to a point where i could choose the windows start up, i would choose "start windows normally". It then went to a blue screen and said that I should check the HDD for viruses and run CHKDSK/F, but I am not fimiliar with the BIOS on it, and could not find the terminal command prompt to run it. I couldn't boot it up in safe mode either. If anyone knows how to fix it, it'd be nice to post it here. Thanks in advanced
